When he won the lottery, he was 64 years old and was thinking to leave driving his truck which had 2 million miles on it. The couple bought the lottery ticket at a Shell service station in Roland, which is their residential area in eastern Oklahoma. They had several options to receive the lottery prize, and they choose to receive $33.3 million lump sum on On 27th June 2007, after taxes rather than going with full amount paid out over 29 years. Don Harvey’s wife Joyc said, which tickets they bought they were “came out wrong.” According to her, “she tried to use those same numbers when she bought the ticket in Roland and bingo,” and the decision was right.

According to Oklahoma Lottery executive director Jim Scroggins, Oklahoma started its big lottery by offering scratch-off tickets in October for $500 "Pick 3" drawing in November.   1. Another big lottery prize in Oklahoma was $2 million. It was a Powerball game ticket which was purchased in 2005 at a food store in Shawnee Oklahoma and was claimed by the FDC Investment Trust. After taxes, the trust received a total of $1.42 million. The Powerball number was 17, and the winning numbers were 34, 12, 17, and 19. FDC Investment Trust said, “We will make sure the use of the won prize will be straightforward and for the real purposes of our organization.”
